Student Mentoring & Counselling Policy

Mentoring & Counselling Policy

Key Features of the Student Mentoring & Counselling Program:

Mentoring: Each student is assigned a faculty mentor at the beginning of their academic journey. Mentors are experienced faculty members who provide academic guidance, career advice, and support in personal development. Regular one-on-one meetings between mentors and students are encouraged to discuss academic progress, set goals, and address any concerns or challenges. Mentors also help students identify opportunities for internships, projects, and other extracurricular activities that align with their career aspirations.

Counselling Services: The college provides professional counselling services to support students' mental and emotional well-being. Qualified counsellors are available to assist students with issues such as stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and other personal concerns. Counselling sessions are confidential, and students are encouraged to seek help whenever they feel overwhelmed or in need of someone to talk to. Workshops and seminars on mental health, stress management, and personal development are regularly organized to equip students with coping strategies and life skills.

Peer Support: In addition to faculty mentoring and professional counselling, the college promotes a culture of peer support. Senior students often volunteer as peer mentors to help junior students adjust to college life, share study tips, and offer guidance on academic matters. Peer mentoring fosters a sense of community and helps build strong, supportive relationships among students.

Career Guidance: The mentoring program also includes career counselling, where students receive advice on career paths, job search strategies, resume building, and interview preparation. The college collaborates with industry professionals and alumni to provide students with insights into various career opportunities and trends.

Confidentiality and Accessibility: All mentoring and counselling interactions are conducted with strict confidentiality to ensure students feel safe and comfortable sharing their concerns. The college ensures that mentoring and counselling services are easily accessible to all students, regardless of their background or circumstances. Patamda College’s Student Mentoring & Counselling program is committed to nurturing students’ academic, personal, and professional growth, ensuring they have the support they need to succeed and thrive in their college life and beyond.
